5th Grade ELA/SS Teacher

My Bio

Hello! My name is Kristen Bulger and I am pleased to join the middle school team at the Recker Campus as a 5th grade Language Arts and Social Studies teacher. I am married and have four children that are now teenagers and young adults, two of which are still school age and attend San Tan. Most recently I worked as a Special Education Campus Coordinator at American Leadership Academy, carrying a small caseload of students, in addition to leading the special education staff on site and supporting compliance needs.

I grew up in upstate New York in a suburb of Schenectady.  After graduating high school, I attended the College of Saint Rose in Albany where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education. Later, I continued my education at the University of New York at Albany where I earned a Master of Science degree in Reading. In 2011, my family and I moved to Arizona for new adventures and year round sunshine!

I enjoy teaching because there is nothing more important than impacting young minds and shaping future generations. It is rewarding to see the personal progress and growth that takes place in each student, as they discover their true talents and abilities. It is my goal to create a safe, caring classroom community where each child feels valued and respected, to support student success.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking all around our beautiful state, running, bicycling, taking motorcycle rides, watching movies, and reading. I am looking forward to teaching Language Arts and Social Studies this year, as these are my two favorite subjects!
