Hello Power Campus!

Here we are – the evening before the first day of school! We had a great time meeting with our students and families at Main Event last week and again yesterday afternoon and evening at Open House. We are ready to go for another great school year, celebrating 15 Years of Excellence at San Tan Charter.

Download the School Calendar

Having immediate access to the San Tan Charter School calendar is just a click away! Visit the San Tan Charter School website at https://santancharterschool.com/calendar/ and click “Add to Calendar” to download our calendar(s) to your device.

Technology

San Tan Charter utilizes student laptops at the Power Campus. Parents of STCS students have the option of leasing technology from the school or supplying your own technology from a list of approved devices on the Parent Portal of the school website. There is a $250 annual lease fee for the school’s technology and a $50 annual fee for registering your family’s personal device.

Click here to lease a school device.

Please see our list of Approved Devices.

Starting with the senior class, tomorrow we will begin to issue school laptops to those families who signed the technology agreement and have paid their technology fee.

Personal laptops can be registered at the front desk starting tomorrow after a signed technology agreement and the technology fee has been paid.

HOT LUNCH OPTIONS

Both our Recker and Power Campuses partner with My Hot Lunchbox for a hot lunch option for kids. In addition to My Hot Lunchbox, families are welcome to bring food from home and use our student microwaves in the student union or use the school’s vending machines as lunch options. Remember we are a low sugar and nut free campus.

Nut Policy Reminder

Please remember we are a strict, nut-free campus here at San Tan Charter School. We have many students on campus with serious nut allergies that we must help protect. All of our catered hot lunches and snacks on campus are nut free, so please be careful not to unintentionally pack any of these items for your students or to bring them on campus for snacks. For more details about our Nutrition and Allergy policy, please go to: https://santancharterschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/nutrition_allergy_policy-stcs.pdf.

School Rules, Dress Code, and More!

Everything related to school policy, including what students should wear to school, as well as the expectation for being Roadrunners can be found in our STCS Family Handbook. Please take the time to go over the handbook by clicking here.

iLead Philosophy Challenge

At our Recker and Power campuses, San Tan Charter follows our iLEAD values for character education.

This year, we are looking to create a “Roadrunner iLEAD Pledge” by asking our community to be creative in developing a pledge to our iLead values and who wish to leave their mark on STCS.

Here is the information:

  1. Take the iLEAD values and compose a poem that could be said daily at both campuses.
  2. The poem should be no longer than the Roadrunner Character Pledge which is around a paragraph. We have added the old Roadrunner Character Pledge below for reference

“I am a Roadrunner of Character, I will be worthy of Trust

I will be Respectful and Responsible, doing what I must

I will always act with Fairness, I will show the I Care

I will be a Good Citizen and always do my share”

  1. Poems should be submitted through the following LINK
  2. All Poems are due by August 31st
  3. The poem selected will be announced September 7th.

iLEAD

integrity- Speaking the truth and presenting oneself genuinely with a focus on the whole person through self-discipline and determination.

Love- Valuing close relationships with others by thoughtfully demonstrating kindness, patience and a deep respect for the diversity, feelings and opinions of others.

Empathy- Imagining what it is like to be another person, in their situation, seeking understanding prior to acting.

Accountability- The acknowledgment and acceptance of responsibility for one’s decisions and actions along with the results.

Dedication-Deeply committed to our community with a strong loyalty to our shared goals.

STCS is going to Europe! Join our school on the WWII in England and France trip. Students can earn college credit, experience new cultures and more! While this trip is open to all students grades 5-12, we do require any 5th– 7th graders traveling to have a parent chaperone with them but strongly encourage other parents to attend!

We have 2 spots leftSign up now to guarantee a spot for your child! Have questions? The friendly folks at EF’s Traveler Support team can help at 800-665-5364. And if your child has friends who haven’t signed up yet, feel free to pass this message along to their families, too.

Any questions? Please email Mrs. Laramie at slaramie@santancs.com
