College & Career Event Tours for High School Students
Attention HS Families!
On Wednesday, January 30th, our high school students will have the opportunity to attend a college tour of The University of Arizona’s campus. In conjunction with this, all high school students will also have the opportunity to attend a career fair hosted by Maricopa Community Colleges on Friday, February 1st.
Permission slips will be going out to students beginning today. The price you see listed on the permission slip is the total cost and includes participation for BOTH events.
If you would like your student to attend these great college and career
opportunities, please complete the permission and turn into the front office
with payment by Friday, January 25th.

It’s a Small World After All! ~ Power Campus Cultural Fair
When: Thursday, January 17, 2019
Time: 9:00-11:30

Barrett Summer Scholars Program
The Barrett Summer Scholars program provides students with the opportunity to experience college firsthand and prepare for enrollment and success at Arizona State University and Barrett, the Honors College. This program is designed for 8th, 9th, and 10th grade.
If you would like to learn more about the Barrett Summer Scholars program, please attend our Power Campus information session on Tuesday, January 29th, at 6:00pm.

Gifted Testing Opportunity
San Tan’s annual Gifted Testing event is approaching quickly!
If you are interested in having your child tested for giftedness, please complete the attached Parent Request Form for Testing and return it to the office with the testing Co-Pay of $50. If your child is already identified as gifted,
they do not need to retest.
Note: If your child is currently in a gifted class and identified as provisional they will automatically be retested, you do not need to send in the recommendation form.
Gifted Testing Requests are due no later than January 16th.
Gifted testing will begin in mid-February.
San Tan Family Night @ YC’s Mongolian Grill
On Thursday, January 17th from 11:00 am – 8:00 pm, San Tan’s Leo Club is sponsoring a fundraiser at YC’s Mongolian Grill on Power & Ray. All proceeds will benefit the San Tan Arts program including: Visual Arts, Drama, Dance, Music, and Culinary Arts. Please come out to support San Tan’s Arts Department and enjoy some delicious food! Present a flyer or let them know you are there for San Tan. Thank you for your participation!

Science Fair/STEMFest
San Tan’s annual Science Fair and STEMFest is right around the corner! Join us for a scientifically fun day as we welcome the Arizona Science Center, Gilbert Recycling, and our amazing teacher’s STEMulating hands on learning activities!
Our students will be presenting their Science Fair Projects and STEM competitions include an Eggy Balloon, Heavy Crane, News Paper Table, and Coldest Lunch Box challenges!
When: Feb 2nd
Time: 10am to 1:30pm
Where: San Tan Power Campus
Award Ceremony: 1:00pm (Main Gym)
Science Fair Judges Needed!!
San Tan’s Annual Science Fair needs your help!
We are in need of volunteers to assist us in judging science fair projects! Judges will assess the student projects while the students present them. It is a
thrilling adventure to participate in the learning of our remarkable young scientists.
When? Judging – Saturday, February 2nd from 9:00 AM to 10:00AM
