Tauscher Times 10.12.22
Hello Power Campus!
Welcome to the start of Quarter 2 – I hope you all enjoyed a nice Fall Break!
Note: All 2022-23 EF Tour trips deadlines for sign-ups are Saturday, Oct. 15. See below for more details on our domestic and international educational trips offered this year. School Year 2023-24 EF Tours Information Night will be on campus Tuesday, Oct. 18.
A couple of items to report on from Quarter 1:
- The Power Campus set an enrollment record! Thank you to our families who have sent more great kids to join our school – we are inching closer to full capacity.
- Our school’s attendance rate is the highest it has been since 2019 and is exceeding this year’s goal. We appreciate all the families working to make attendance a top priority.
- Fall Sports are off to a great start – we have the highest winning percentage since joining the AIA. There are over 150 students participating in after-school athletics!
On the academic front, today we hosted the PSAT on campus for students preparing for college entry, and our upperclassmen traveled Tuesday to Flagstaff to visit Northern Arizona University. Today, you may have received an email that your student has qualified to apply for the National Honor Society or Junior National Honor Society. Please help support your student and encourage them to apply!
This quarter we have some exciting academic events happening on campus with our Electives Showcase Oct. 29 and our Cultural Fair November 4. In both instances, students are working on project-based assignments and their full effort is important. Make sure to talk to your students and teachers about these assignments and events to keep up with key deadlines.
Paper Drive
This week we started our on-campus PAPER DRIVE. Please drop off your donations of printer paper to the front desk and the teacher with the MOST paper donated receives a $100 award for their classroom. Be sure to write your teacher’s name on your paper delivery and check it into the front office for credit.
Disguise your Pumpkin Contest
Just in time for the fall season, each campus will participate in a pumpkin decorating contest.
This event combines our creativity with some fun competition.
Guidelines:
- Pumpkin size: 2lbs or less
- Pumpkins cannot be carved
- No scary Halloween decorations (Preschool friendly)
- Turn-in your pumpkins by 10/24 in to the front desk (your number will be assigned)
- Families vote for their favorite pumpkin 10/24 – 10/28.
- Winners announced on 10/28

Cognia Accreditation
Thank you for those of you who completed the Cognia parent survey. Every five (5) years, schools are up for national re-accreditation and this year it is our turn at San Tan Charter School. Please be on the lookout for more parent-feedback surveys to help us with our continuous school improvement.

Student Technology
San Tan Charter utilizes student laptops to access curriculum for the majority classes at the Power Campus. Many families have not yet paid to lease a school device or register their personal device. This week administration is reconciling all technology and if students are still without devices, will receive a call home for payment for lease or to have their device secured on our Google Enterprise for Education.
Thank you to all our families who have been proactive in paying for the school laptop lease or registration. If you have not yet done so, please make that payment to avoid a call home or to have personal devices held until registration is complete.
