Hello Power Campus!

Wow, that was an awesome first day of school! Thank-you parents for all the students who showed up prepared and ready to go today. If you paid your technology fee, student laptops were issued and personal device registrations are underway. All technology must be in the hands of our students by this Friday, as Monday we start our online MAP testing!

This Friday we will host our annual Junior High House sorting ceremony and Pep Assembly! During the PEP assembly we will talk in more detail about our programs, sports, and will host a dress code fashion show for students. At that time, we will also share our school expectations and procedures so to make it a successful year. In the end, please remind your students that their teachers and school officials have the final determination of what is acceptable and appropriate while at school and on campus.

MAP Testing

We start early with MAP testing next week!  Remind your students that this information is key to our educational process. At that time, we will be able to pin-point their progress on both math and reading. All core classes and tutoring programs are dependent on this information for individualizing their needs, so be sure to have your students give us their best on the test!

Performing Arts Update

Audition sign-ups are now open for Honk! The show is open to 3rd-12th graders and will have two casts. The Green Cast will rehearse M/W 3:30-5:30PM and Gold Cast will rehearse T/TH 3:30-5:30PM.

Auditions will be held August 22nd & 23rd at the Power Campus from 3:30-5:30PM.

Lunch Options

Both our Recker and Power Campuses partner with My Hot Lunchbox for a hot lunch option for kids. In addition to My Hot Lunchbox, families are welcome to bring food from home and use our microwaves in the student union or the school’s vending machines as lunch options. Remember we are a low sugar and Nut Free Campus.

Pay attention for an email going out this week for all new families who are without your initial code for logging on to Infinite Campus. If you already have an account, log on to the Infinite Campus Parent Portal by clicking here.

 

Student Pick-Up and Drop Off

Thank you for a successful first day. Reminder that campus gates open for 1st period students at 7:55am and that students must be picked up after school by 3:45pm. To ensure a smooth drive-lane experience, please be sure to follow the cones that are set up on campus to maintain an orderly and efficient drive-lane experience. Please do not move cones for any reason. All access to the campus is through the Southern entrance off Power Road. When exiting campus, you must make a right-hand turn.

Athletics News/PE Uniforms

Sports Registration is underway. Athletic Director Miyone Roanhorse has shared information about registering for sports for our upcoming athletics seasons.  If you have any questions about this process, Ms. Roanhorse will be in the gym answering questions at Open House and you can reach her through email at mroanhorse@santancs.com.

Register your students for sports by following this link: San Tan Sports Registration 2022-2023. Student-athletes will be able to practice and compete in games once complete registration and payment has been made.

Schedule Changes

Students can change their schedules within the first 10 days of school.  Schedule change forms are available for students outside of the front office and schedules changes are occurring daily through Ms. Tischer.

Please see the attached bell schedule. NOTE: Most students will only have Periods 1-7 in their regularly-scheduled school day.
