Hello Power Campus!

Fall testing is underway!

Below are the “grade level norms” for NWEA’s MAP® Test. More than 9 million students in the US and in 140 countries worldwide use MAP® test, and at San Tan Charter our goal is that 70% of our students will be working at or beyond these grade-level norms.

Please make sure to talk to your student about knowing their numbers. Students become very excited when they witness their growth over time!

All-School Fundraiser

This Thursday is our all-school fundraiser BLITZ! Like an old-school telethon, our students will be working the phones and texting friends, family and acquaintances 7th period raising money for their favorite programs. Make sure your students bring their completed contact sheets (attached) and that beforehand your contacts know student will be calling for donations ; ) The fun will be happening starting around 2:45pm.

Student incentives:

$300 cash for Highest Student earner

$100 cash for grade-level highest student earner

$1000 for the team that raises the most funds!

Superbowl Ticket Raffle:

Also, for every $50 donated, you will be entered into a raffle to win (2) Superbowl tickets this year to Las Vegas. For every $250 earned per student, you will also earn a raffle ticket.

If you haven’t already, please have your students sign up for the fundraiser by downloading the APP and using the fundraiser code to choose their team. The Fundraiser Code is 01261101.

Fall Sports Kickoff

Join us on campus for our Fall Sports Kickoff August 17th starting at 4:00pm! There will be food, music, games and more! Come support our roadrunner athletes during our volleyball Green and Gold game staring at 4:30 in the main gym and stay for our varsity football game vs. Scottsdale Christian at 7:00pm. Students wearing San Tan Charter gear get into the volleyball and football game for free.

 

STCS Travel Program Information Night

An annual San Tan Charter tradition is EF Tours! Come hear more about this year’s offerings. When students travel, they expand their knowledge of the world around them, discover more about themselves, and grow more confident. These skills are critical for creating the global citizens of tomorrow, and we would love to have your student join us on this adventure.

We are hosting two information sessions to talk about our upcoming trips!

Eastern Seaboard Trip Meeting at 5 pm

Greece Trip Meeting at 6 pm

In this info session, we’ll talk about:

● How this opportunity will benefit your child

● What we’ll see and do on our trip

● Everything that’s included in this experience

● How your child can earn academic credit

● How we’ll be keeping the trip safe and affordable

● How to enroll on the trip (before it fills up!)

Student Academic Expectations and Accountability

Everything related to school policy can be found in our student handbook. Please take the time to go over the handbook with your students. The handbook also includes our dress code policy.

Sports Sign Ups

Sports registration is officially open for the 2023-2024 school year! Reminder that all athletes are required to fill out and complete a sports physical in order to participate in their sport.

Please keep in mind student-athletes will only be able to practice and compete in games once complete registration and payment has been made. Student-athletes cannot participate in practice or games if their sports physical is not completed, so it is imperative to complete the physical exam prior to the team’s first practice!

Technology

San Tan Charter utilizes student laptops to access curriculum for many of the classes at the Power Campus. Please be reminded there is a $250 annual lease for a school device and a $50 annual fee for registering a personal device.  If families choose to bring their own device, please be sure your Chromebook is compatible with the network by using the Approved Technology List and please be mindful that all student owned Chromebooks will need to be secured on our Google Enterprise for Education.

Schedule Changes

Students are welcome to change their schedules ONLY within the first 10 days of school.  The deadline for schedule changes is Monday, August 7.
