Tauscher Times 8.23.22
Hello Power Campus!
We are officially halfway through first quarter! Today on we had some very handsome and well-dressed students on campus for our campus-wide and fall sports picture day. Thank you for sending your students prepared and ready for this important day.
Just a reminder that next week (Aug. 31) we will have a half day on campus and tomorrow evening we host our first home volleyball game of the season. Make sure to come out to campus tomorrow evening to see our volleyball girls in action as they host Gilbert Classical.
Wednesday HALF DAY schedule
August 31, students will attend an “A” Day schedule (periods 1-4) with an extended “college and career” focus. Grand Canyon University will be on campus speaking to our high school students and our JH classes will be participating in house competitions. School ends on half days at 11:24am, so mark it on your calendar for an early pick-up to drive-lane.
International Peace Day
We are pleased to continue our annual celebration of Peace Day on Sept. 21. To keep tradition, we are offering $10 “Peace Day” t-shirts for students to wear on campus that school day. As always, we will host a activities on campus for our students to both celebrate and teach peace within and throughout our community. Click on this link to order t-shirts for the special event:

Dual Enrollment Classes
Registration for Dual Enrollment classes closes September 18th. If your student is taking a dual enrollment course, please plan ahead… as it can take up to a week to get the ID processed for first time Dual Enrollment students.
What is Dual Enrollment?
Dual Enrollment is a course that students can take in high school where they can earn both high school and college credit. The same grade earned for High School credit will be earned as college credit. No extra tests are required for college credit.
What do I need to do to earn the college credit?
The only thing you need to do is enroll in the Dual Enrollment course and pay the community college fee. The representative from the college, or Michelle Tischer, can assist you in this extra step. The fee is $85 per credit as compared to ASU’s $560 per credit hour.
Do I have to participate in Dual Enrollment?
No. However, most of our Dual Enrollment math courses are worth 3 to 5 college credits, the same credit that will need to be taken at the college or university later on.
All courses are taken through Gilbert-Chandler Community College. Questions? Please email mtischer@santancs.com for more information.

Arizona Diamondbacks/STCS National Anthem Night
The D-Backs, in partnership with San Tan Charter School, invite you to bring your family and friends to the game on Monday, September 12th vs. the Los Angeles Dodgers. At the game, our very own San Tan Charter students will perform the National Anthem on the field! All students are welcome to participate in the singing of the National Anthem.
Tickets are specifically discounted and a portion of the proceeds from every ticket sold will benefit the San Tan Charter Choir. Tickets can be purchased through Formstack. Purchase Tickets and Sign Up HERE
By filling out the Formstack, I agree that I have read, understand and will adhere to the guidelines and expectations for my student to participate in a performance of the National Anthem on Monday, September 12, 2022. I understand that this is an AT WILL activity and that I will be responsible for my student at all times once they leave the field.
Expectations:
- Students must have a ticket to the game in order to participate in the National Anthem.
- Parents are responsible for providing transportation to and from the event.
- Once the students exit the field, parents are liable for claiming them and supervising them during the game (Details on where to pick up students will be shared at a later date).
Guidelines for Chase Field:
- Anyone on field is expected to show proper respect before, during and after the National Anthem performance. It is very important that everyone stands up straight and does not wave at the cameras.
- All participants must stay on the warning track and off the grass at all times during the performance.
- Outside of the performers, only teachers and chaperones should be on the field. Parents should not go on the field with their children.
- Food, drinks, bags and purses will not be allowed onto the field. Performers should leave all bags and purses with their parents/guardians during the performance.
- With the large number of performers, students should not be talking during the rehearsal or on the field, prior to the performance.
Student Technology
San Tan Charter utilizes student laptops to access curriculum for the majority classes at the Power Campus. Many families have not yet paid to lease a school device or register their personal device. This week administration is reconciling all technology and if students are still without devices, will receive a call home for payment for lease or to have their device secured on our Google Enterprise for Education.
Thank you to all our families who have been proactive in paying for the school laptop lease or registration. If you have not yet done so, please make that payment to avoid a call home or to have personal devices held until registration is complete.
