Tauscher Times 8/25
Hello Power Campus!
We are only days away from our first step in returning back to in-person instruction. Hybrid learning starts this Monday, Aug. 31st! As you know, as with any “first day” we are all eager with excitement and anticipation. This is most certainly a monumental first step with some of our kids returning back to their San Tan “home” meeting again with friends, seeing teachers in-person and starting a new routine.
Let me speak for our staff when I say thank you for the love, encouragement and support we have received as an organization—really since quarter 4 of last year—moving into this year. Personally, I am grateful for our families and students who are working hard with virtual learning. I also want to send a “shout out” to the leadership of our organization and the teamwork that is on display daily from our staff. As a learning community, we may not ever be perfect but I am proud of how we have handled ourselves and the direction we have taken.
Want to “Walk” your classes?
The school will be open to families on Thursday and Friday from 4-6pm on each day for families who would like to drop off their school supplies and walk their student’s schedules to get a “lay of the land”. For new students to the school, this is an opportunity to see where your classrooms are located or if you are starting in-person with Hybrid learning, you will know where to go! For your convenience, a school “map” is available for download.
School Lunch
With the start of school lunch comes the start of myhotlunchbox.com! This vendor provides a choice for families who would like to have a hot lunch option for their children. This service starts next week with the reintroduction to in-person learning.
Download directions on ordering for your students.
As always, students are also welcome to bring their lunches from home and our vending machines will also be available to students during their lunch period.
Benchmark Testing
Just a reminder that benchmark testing for reading and math is happening this Thursday and Friday! Students will attend their first period class on both days and will be directed from there to complete their tests. Benchmark testing occurs periods 1-4 on Thursday and Friday with periods 5-7 attending their regularly-scheduled classes.
Junior High House Sorting
Tomorrow our San Tan Charter junior high students will participate in our annual house sorting tradition. The junior high team comes together during half days throughout the school year for fun activities, team-building, and school spirit where students earn “points” for their houses and, much like in the Harry Potter series, the houses “compete” against each other!
Who: All Junior High Students
What: JH House sorting activity
Where: Google Meet (children will receive information from their teachers)
When: Wednesday, Aug. 26, 9:03 am – 9:48 am
Where: San Tan Charter School (virtual attendance through Google Meet)
School Supplies
If you have not already purchased school supplies, attached you will find the items necessary for your student’s return to in-person instruction.
Power Campus Before & Aftercare Service (Campus Closed)
